Dortmund, Germany.
From Dortmund we collected large high-value bottling plants that always needed police and local council escorts. It does not look that big, but I think this one was 5.5m wide, and went to Burton-on-Trent brewery in the UK, involving transhipment twice to get on and off the RMS German Ferry as it was too wide for the link-span to load normally.
This was my second truck, which had sunk and been salvaged from the Townsend Thorenson Ferry disaster, and just had a series of problems after that, culminating in drive axle and hub-reduction unit seizures in Warsaw, Poland in early 1989 when carrying a heavy load. Author’s photo.
