Grossenhain Airbase

 

Grossenhain in East Germany was home to the Soviet 296th Fighter Bomber regiment which operated MiG-27s, tasked with ground attack duties against NATO advancing forces. The photo is an SU-24 which also operated from East German bases in a similar role.
